ABOUT US

Ancient civilizations, portraits from distant lands, landscapes long since forgotten: our photographs, taken by the most well known and regarded photographers of the 19th and early 20th century, are extraordinary works of art that, until now, have been the sole privilege of museums and an exclusive group of private collectors.

Wanting to make these photographs available to a wider audience, we first restore each image—taking advantage of our 30+ years of experience in 19th century photography to recover the original tints and nuances of the albumen, salt and silver-gelatin prints—and then develop the photograph according to archival guidelines.

Our photographs are available in strictly controlled limited editions with each print being accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a short text that helps expand on the historical context of the scene.
