Euston train station was originally constructed in 1837; the dawn of the time when powerful railroad companies would call upon eminent architects to create 'iron cathedrals' in the center of capital cities. This wonderfully graphic image, taken by the Scottish firm of James Valentine & Son in 1895, shows Euston station at the height of its architectural splendor and provides a beautiful view of a structure that was sadly demolished in the early 1960s because it was deemed 'inadequate.'
