At the end of the 19th century, Wine Buyers for the cafés and restaurants of Paris purchased nearly all of their wine from dealers found near the quay of Bercy (located on the Seine river in southeastern Paris.) This image, taken by the French photographer Charles Delius, shows two Buyers, possibly from one of the grand Parisian bistros, in the process of deciding which wine they plan to purchase.
